Meet The Bus

Meet the Bus

Gila River Transit has six Chevy ARBOC buses. Smaller buses seat 20 people at full capacity. The larger bus, used only for the Sacaton Shuttle, seats 23 people at full capacity. For safety, buses are equipped with GPS and video security.

To easily enter and exit the bus, the front right corner of the bus lowers to the ground. A fold-out ramp helps passengers enter the bus. Buses can seat up to two wheelchairs or scooters at a time.

To assist riders, each bus also has an overhead and curbside sign that displays the route name.

Each bus has a front-mounted bike rack. The rack can hold two bicycles.

Front seats are for seniors and people with mobility aids. Front seats fold down for users with wheelchairs or scooters. The driver may ask passengers to move further back if someone needs the front seats.

To signal the driver that you want to get off the bus, use the pull cord above the bus windows.
